The Finnish Touring car championship 2002 was won by Timo Rinne with his brand new XRAY T1 EVO2. The race was held last weekend in Laukaa in very demanding conditions. The Finnish XRAY team was on very good pace already during the practice day and the laptimes were very competitive. The practice day was run on dry conditions. However the actual race day started with rain, which continued throughout the event.

XRAY T1 proved to work well on the wet surface as well and at the end of the day Timo Rinne was able to win the race. The competition was tight with Reima Mäkinen finishing second and Ari Lehtimäki third. The only changes made to the â™wetâ™ setup were adding slight toe-out to front, softening the front suspension and changing into longer gearing â“ of course in addition to waterproofing the electric equipment. The laptimes were only 2 seconds slower than on the dry surface so these cars were very fast on the wet as well.

Timoâ™s car was powered by Hudy 12*2 motor, Orion batteries and LRP speedo. The setup accuracy was provided by Hudy setup tools.
